Playing the piano has taught me the importance of practice, precision, hard work and discipline.
Beyond my bi-weekly classes since the age of 7, I have completed practical piano exams with all high Distinctions in Grades Initial,1,2,3 and 4 (Trinity Board), Grades 3, 4 and 6 (ABRSM Board). Currently, I am working towards Grade 8 Trinity.
I have deepened my knowledge of music by completing all of the ABRSM Music Theory exams Grades 1 to 5 with 4 Distinctions and one high Merit.
I was selected post audition to play the piano in a prestigious national ticketed concert, the Budding Brigade (part of the Young Talent Concert Series) at the National Centre for Performing Arts, Mumbai. The Budding Brigade selects only 11 children from the whole of India to perform before a discerning audience at this well-known auditorium.
I have played at various public piano concerts over the last 10 years including, the High Scorers’ Concert ABRSM, Romantics & More, NCPA advertised in local newspaper, Mumbai Mirror, Add Art Open Air Concert, NCPA and Furtados Concert, Pune.
Poetry & Sewing
My poem, “Why?” was published in The Hindu (national) newspaper which focuses on issues of racism and religious discrimination.
I was the Slam poetry Prize winner in Thunderbolt competition, participated in the Young Authors Writing Competition, Columbia College, Chicago and got the Credit Award in Virtual School Australia’s “Elaine Hobson Literary Competition.
I am self-taught in sewing, knitting and crochet. I have created dresses, tops, scarves etc. I have completed Fashion as Design by the Museum of Modern Art.
