Chemistry Teacher at Abhyudaya Nagar Mumbai Public School and Gandhi Ashram School

I have taught 40+ Grade 8 children and 20 Grades 8,9 and 10 girls about various Chemistry concepts including a catalysis experiment on the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide through the elephant toothpaste experiment using four different variables at Government schools in Mumbai and West Bengal.

Numeracy and Literacy Teacher at Yasham Foundation

Every week for the last year, I have taught Grades 5-6 children numeracy and literacy skills in my area by employing Skillmatics games to aid in developing scientific cognitive skills.

Book Donor and Assistant, Kitabh Khana

  • I have grown up since the age of three at my local independent bookstore, Kitabh Khana. I worked there as an assistant for over 3 months and since I have nearly read all of the books in the children and young adult section, I helped curate these sections, wrote 20+ book reviews for their display, recommended books for customers and organised the section. 
  • I wanted others less privileged than me to have this joy and so, I have donated 300+ of my favourite story books to Abhyudaya Nagar Mumbai Public School and PCMC School.  Also, I have donated 75+ story books to the Phiroza Godrej Library of IWSA and to the girls library at Gandhi Ashram School.

Environmental Activist, Colaba Woods

  • I have campaigned against the cutting trees at a local park, Colaba Woods for a metro station and was featured on NDTV (National TV) and in Times of India newspaper.
  • Raised awareness for the cause by a petition with ~ 165 signatures from prominent individuals like, Malala Yousafzai, authors, Lauren Child, Robin Stevens and students, teachers, industrialists. I have monitored compliance with the Bombay High court undertaking to replant trees in my locality.

Founder,‘CoroNO’, An organisation to raise awareness and funds for those affected by coronavirus

  • We arranged a virtual concert with singers, pianists and other artists,  raising over USD 895 for the Welfare of Stray Dogs to feed stray dogs in COVID.
  • I sold my wildlife photography prints (which was submitted in the UK Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition 2020, Natural History Museum) and raised USD 230 which fed 20 people for 15 days through Acorn Foundation.
  • I raised USD 281 for 50 underprivileged children, rations for 5 families and paid for a refrigerator for a government hospital to store COVID-19 medicines.
